The Winner of ATP Finals in London

The Russian, Daniil Medvedev won the ATP Finals in London on Sunday. The world number four defeated Dominic Thiem from Austria with 4:6, 7:6 (7:2), 6:4 and secured a winning check of approximately 1.3 million euros. Medvedev won the ATP Finals for the first time. 

From the beginning, one could see that it’s going to be a difficult match for wither player. Thiem’s first service game lasted ten minutes, and long rallies characterised the whole game. Thiem got the first break for 3:2 after a double fault by Medvedev. In the second set, both players played well but also created their own problems. Medvedev got into trouble on his own serve, and same time Thiem negligently missed a possible chance to win. In the final set, the Austrian Thiem defended at 1:1 three breakpoints. However, shortly after he was unable to stay strong against Medvedev. The Russian decided the break for himself with 3:2

Medvedev is finishing up the year successfully. He did not win the Finals in London but also the Masters in Paris. In Paris, he defeated Alexander Zverev from Germany.

The Russian is the first player who defeated the world number one, two and three in the ATP finals. First, he won over the world number one Novak Djokovic. Then in the semi-final, he succeeded over world number two, Rafael Nadal. In the finals, he won over Dominic Thiem, who is currently number three in the world.
