Juventus in fast check before the Serie A start

Champion for over 3000 days and “Il Decimo” in focus: Juventus makes no effort to slacken its efforts – and has a highly motivated soccer expert on the sidelines. The old lady in a quick check-up before the Serie A kick-off.

First and foremost, Juventus has been incredibly courageous in filling the position of the coach after the foreseeable dismissal of Maurizio Sarri (only one year in office) – with Andrea Pirlo. Initially, the 2006 World Champion, former figurehead of Milan and Juve, as well as great wine connoisseurs, was to work his way up the Turin substructure. But now his hour has come earlier – with the task of leading the Bianconeri, who have been Serie A champion for over 3000 days, to the tenth Scudetto in a row and also to go for the title in the Champions League. The former free-kick artist will also be joined by newcomers Dejan Kulusevski and Weston McKennie.

What else is known?

Another striker is urgently needed since Gonzalo Higuain’s contract has been cancelled. Most talked about are names like Luis Suarez (Barça) or Edin Dzeko (Roma). Apart from that, the squad continues to impress with quality: The Pjanic-Arthur exchange with Barcelona does not make the old lady any worse, and in the defence, with Matthijs de Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci and captain Giorgio Chiellini, the highest level of security is still guaranteed. And at the front everything counts on the interaction between Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. Gianluigi Buffon is also still around, as is Sami Khedira, who is currently training again after a year of injuries.

What’s the goal?

For the tenth championship in a row and the 37th Scudetto overall, Juve has taken up the cause. But that’s not all: the Bianconeri want to develop further, become more dominant and play even more attractively – and above all to shine more strongly again in the Champions League. There, the club longs for success “numero tre” after the only two royal league triumphs in 1985 and 1996.

Coach Pirlo is well aware of this, and before the opening game against Sampdoria Genoa coming Sunday, he says: “I know that victories are expected of me. That was already the case as a player – and it will be the same as a coach. We all have a great desire to show that Juve can win the tenth championship title in a row and be part of the Champions League right to the very end”.

We shall see how Juve will do, and we’re excited about the start of the new season! Our prediction for the Juve – Sampdoria game on Sunday is a 3-0 victory for the Bianconeri. What’s your prediction? Will Juve get off to a successful start?
